Hello and welcome to Our Crafty Mom. We are happy to be back with another Pinterest challenge.
If you are not familiar with this challenge, it is where all the participants of this hop (and you too) not only pin an idea, but actually make it happen.
This was the perfect opportunity to try metal stamping.
I’ve been wanting to try it for years and am so glad I did. Being an avid crafter, it is hard to believe I haven’t tried it before now.

Last week I planted an herb garden that you can see here.
I wanted plant labels to mark the different herbs and checked out Pinterest.
There were several that I loved, but the pin I used for inspiration can be seen here.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I am very thrifty and try to diy projects whenever I can.
It really keeps costs down, and let’s be honest, it’s just plain fun to make your own stuff.
Let me show you how easy these were to make.

How To Make Plant Labels From Mason Jar Lids
Supplies
- Mason Jar Lids
- Krylon Color Master Spray Paint White
- Wood Craft Sticks
- DecoArt Acrylic Paint
- Metal Embossing Kit – I used the My Intent Maker Kit
Instructions

Step 1 – Paint the mason jar lids with two coats of spray paint. Be sure to paint light coats to avoid running. Let the paint dry in between coats.

Step 2 – When the mason jar lids are completely dry, follow the instructions included in the metal stamping kit to stamp the words onto the lids.
You can find detailed how-to videos on the My Intent website here.
It is easier than you think and the hardest part is making sure the letters are lined up.
Not only is the My Intent product amazing, but their mission statement really resonated with me:
“We believe there is purpose inside each of us and we want our efforts to encourage people to share more truth and inspiration with each other. We are not a jewelry company – we are a service project”
Est. 2013 – Founder Chris Pan
Don’t you love that? I’m so excited to be a part of the MyIntent Maker Community to spread positivity.

Step 3 – Paint the craft sticks in pretty summer paint colors.

Step 4 – Hot glue the sticks to the mason jar lids.

Step 5 – Place your adorable plant labels in your garden and enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed these adorable plant markers. If so, please pin the below photo:

Love this project! Same as you I share the passion of upcycling things or using supplies I already have at home. Frugal crafts are the best and creating from scratch is my passion. Pinning your little herb markers for future reference, Michelle!

They are so sweet, I have some old the metal stamps like that and have hardly ever used them - what a waste! I must find some more ways to use them asap!!
