Let me show you how I updated an IKEA Moppe Mini Chest Of Drawers for my craft room in pink and gold.
Welcome to the first 2018 monthly Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures.
This Pinterest Challenge is to inspire and motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin a project, but to make it happen!
So this month, I chose to makeover an IKEA Moppe Mini Chest Of Drawers similar to this one I saw on Pinterest:

Here is my finished IKEA Moppe:
I’m really happy with how it turned out! If you’ve stopped by here recently you know I am working on a Craft Room Makeover, which means I need lots of storage.
My color scheme is pink, gold and white. I’ve waited 30 years to have a craft room, so I am going totally girly and glam!
I picked up an IKEA Moppe Mini Chest Of Drawers to keep on my desk and store small supplies that I use often. You can check out my plans for my craft room makeover here.
The IKEA Moppe comes in a couple different sizes and can also be stacked. It is very reasonably priced at about $17 for the smaller size.
You can buy a similar one here. As I am going with a color scheme of pink, gold and white, I knew those were the colors I wanted to use for this IKEA Moppe hack.
IKEA Moppe Mini Chest Of Drawers Hack
- Decoart Americana Decor Metallics
- DecoArt Americana Acrylics White
- DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint Pink
- Foam Brush Set, 2-Inch
I started by painting the base of the Moppe in pink and then started on the drawers.
I am kind of an impatient crafter and not too concerned about things being perfect, so I did not tape off the drawers.
But you can certainly tape off the angles if you like.
Once I had the gold and white painted, I went in and added pink to the center of each drawer.
I just went back in with a q-tip and corrected any mistakes and made it somewhat even.
I decided to add little feet to the Moppe and used old wood knobs that I had in my stash. I gave them a quick coat of white paint and like how it gives it a finished look.
