On the last Monday of each month, a group of bloggers participate in a #MovieMondayChallenge, hosted by C’mon Get Crafty! We decide on a topic, genre, or specific movie to use for inspiration and everyone gets free reign to create something wonderful!

Welcome to Our Crafty Mom! This month’s Movie Monday Challenge is Jaws!! The timing perfectly coincides with Shark Week! Being a child of the 80’s, Jaws is such a favorite of mine!! I also grew up in Rhode Island where beaches were a huge part of our Summer. My sister and I definitely had a little trouble going in the water after seeing Jaws, much to our parents dismay! My Mom told us over and over again that those kind of sharks weren’t in our Ocean, lol!
My family loves Shark Week and I thought it would be fun to serve appetizers, drinks and dessert while we have a Jaws marathon. I found the Jaws 2 DVD at the flea market for $1!
Beach Themed Cake
This was so fun to make! I used brownies as the base with vanilla frosting and blue food coloring for the ocean. Brown sugar was used for the sand. You can take this off prior to eating.
Wafer cookies cut in half are perfect as floats for sour patch kids. Gummy Lifesavers act as ring floats. The gummy sharks were tough to find and I finally found them at the grocery store.
Shark Fins & Seaweed Dip
How about Tostitos and spinach dip or Shark fins and seaweed dip! Shrimp is a must!
Fish & Chips
(Gold)fish & chips are perfect to send home as treat bags if you have a kids party.
Shark Bark
Candy bark is something I make for every Holiday. It is quick, easy & inexpensive. Also, everyone loves candy bark! For this version I used vanilla & turquoise candy wafers adding shark gummies to the bark.
Shark Bite Shots
For the adults, a shot of blue curaçao and a shot of rum. Add a shark for a cool affect. I also had a non alcoholic drink with blue punch and sprite.
Include straws with a gummy shark on the straw.

Of course I had to include a banner just for fun.
Now let’s see what everyone else was inspired to create for this month’s #MovieMondayChallenge!! If you’d like to join our Facebook group, you can request an invite here.

Love these party ideas, especially the Shark Bark and Shark Fin and Seaweed Dip! So clever! Jaws 2 is probably the only other Jaws film I tolerate, I felt they just got dumb after that. :/

Thanks Megan! I agree with you about the movies. I stop at 2 as well. Unfortunately I think that happens with a lot of sequels! Thanks again for hosting.
