On the last Monday of each month, a group of bloggers participate in a #MovieMondayChallenge, hosted by C’mon Get Crafty! We decide on a topic, genre, or specific movie to use for inspiration and everyone gets free reign to create something wonderful! With it being back to school we all picked movies with a school theme. My first pick was The Breakfast Club!

This movie came out in 1985-the year I graduated High School, so it is near and dear to my heart. But, another reason I am so partial to this movie is because it is timeless. My 26 year old son and my 21 year old daughter both love the movie as well. My daughter chose this movie poster as one of four to hang on valuable wall space in her dorm room the past 3 years. She also collects Funko POP and has the coolest John Bender Funko POP shown here. This is a rare find and is probably one of her favorite out of the 30 or so that she owns.
Cute right? For my daughter’s last morning home before I move her back to College, I decided to put together a fun The Breakfast Club Breakfast for us all to enjoy!
While the movie basically showcased what the students had for lunch, I changed it up for breakfast. Let’s see what we served:
The Breakfast Club Breakfast
A Brain – Brian Johnson
A classic breakfast of bacon, eggs and home fries with whole wheat toast and a glass of orange juice served. All 5 food groups are covered here!
A Basket Case – Allison Reynolds
Who could forget her cereal and sugar sandwich? A bowl of sugary Captain Crunch fits the bill!
A Princess – Claire Standish
I know Claire ate sushi in the movie, but we are not a sushi family at all. As she is very health conscious I could picture her eating a well balanced, light Breakfast of a hard boiled egg and a slice of whole wheat toast with just a smidgeon of peanut butter.
An Athlete – Andrew Clark
Who could forget his lunch packed in a full size grocery bag with a full bag of potato chips? Of course wrestlers need lots of protein to give them energy to get through the rigorous training. A large omelet packed with spinach, cheese and turkey sausage.
How about a fruit and yogurt parfait for dessert?

A Criminal – John Bender
For one of my favorite movie bad boys, nothing but coffee (and I’m sure smokes as in the movie)
This was a fun trip down memory lane and made me want to watch the movie again. I hope you enjoyed it and will stop by the other bloggers linked below to see what Back to School movies they are sharing.
Now let’s see what everyone else was inspired to create for this month’s #MovieMondayChallenge!! If you’d like to join our Facebook group, you can request an invite here.
