Today is a very special day as Lacey, our beautiful 3 year old black cat, is making her debut at Our Crafty Mom. Lacey  is your classic pampered cat as you can see in this photo:

She is a little ornery and set in her ways with her routine, including what she likes to eat. Lucky for me her regular cat food is Purina® Friskies® Indoor Delights.  One of the reasons I am happy about this is because Purina® brand cat foods are available at Stop & Shop, where I do my regular grocery shopping. They have an extensive pet care aisle filled with everything you need to pamper your pet from cat litter to kitty treats to your favorite Purina® wet and dry food located to the right of the front entrance. There really is something to be said for one stop shopping! DIY Cat Bed

Finally, after a tough day of cat lounging, making biscuits and eating, what better place for your pampered cat to get a good nights sleep than their very own DIY Cat Bed? With the Holidays coming, I wanted to create something for Lacey and this is perfect!  This bed is so easy to make with just a few supplies. Here is what you need to make your pampered cat a DIY Cat Bed:

Supplies

Recycled Bureau Drawer (painted or stained)

2 Standard Pillows

2 Standard Pillow Cases

Vinyl Letters (optional)

4 wood blocks

Wood Screws

I had an old drawer from a tall bureau that was the perfect size. It was given a whitewash finish with a watered down white paint, letting some of the wood show through. I took out the old contact paper and cleaning the entire piece.

The wood blocks were attached to the bottom of the drawer with wood screws. I did add floor protectors to the bottom of the legs.

The flannel pillow cases with the puppy dogs were a must. Not only do the pillows fit perfectly, but they are easily removed for washing. Plus you can change out the pillow cases to a Holiday pillow or even get your favorite sports team! It is the perfect spot for the little Princess to cat nap!
