My New Porch Goose!!
This might be my most ridiculous home decor purchase yet, and I am not sorry! It’s currently -2 degrees in New Hampshire, with a foot or two of snow falling outside my window. ❄️
So if I want to hibernate and have a little fun creating DIY outfits for Gertie Girl, so be it. 🙂 I always go all in, which is why I even started a Facebook group for my fellow New Englanders.

Where Did the Lawn Goose Statue Trend Start?
The porch goose statue trend is new to me, but it’s actually been around for over forty years!
These cheerful plastic and concrete geese have been popping up on lawns for years, mostly in small towns and suburbs across the U.S.
The craze really took off again when people began sharing their dressed up geese on social media, especially TikTok.
Suddenly the porch goose became the perfect way to add personality to your porch and show off your crafty or sassy side.
Where to Buy a Porch Goose?
There are typically 3 types of porch geese:
- Concrete Porch Goose: check your local garden centers for these. Keep in mind they may be a bit pricey because they are made with concrete.
- PolyResin Porch Goose: the polyresin goose is a bit heavier than the plastic goose, which means a bit more expensive.
- Plastic Porch Goose: the most popular and affordable, the plastic goose has gone viral and is very difficult to find, even online.
So, I was thrilled to find my classic plastic porch goose available online at Lowe’s with free shipping.
Plus, I ordered it on a Friday and received it on a Sunday (during a snowstorm) by FedEx. I was so excited when I saw the box!!

I love the large size of this goose. It also has an opening on the bottom so you can add sand or stones to weigh it down for outdoor stability.

It has a vintage blow mold look and feel to it. This would be perfect if you are not planning on dressing yours and would look so pretty in a garden or landscape area.

Now that we’ve talked about some great options at Lowe’s for a porch goose statue, let’s talk about where to find clothes so you can dress up your sweet goose.
Where to Find Porch Goose Outfits
If you have visited Our Crafty Mom before, you know I love a good thrift store or Dollar Tree craft, so my plan is to either thrift or craft goose statue outfits for every month.
This winter outfit was a steal at $2.50 for the hat, coat and muff.
Gertie Girl looks so regal and nice and warm by the fire. I probably won’t put her outside until winter is over, or at least not during a snowstorm.
The cool thing is my living room is decorated in jewel-tones with a navy blue velvet chair and emerald green velvet sofa, so the color of this couldn’t be more perfect!
