Hello! I’ve been having way too much fun making fall and halloween crafts. It’s my absolute favorite season and when you can buy things for a dollar that you can update, it’s hard for a die-hard crafter to resist!

I’ve made so many different pumpkins that even my daughter said “Mom, I think we have enough pumpkins”! These are (probably) my last ones for this year, but next year is another story.

I’m a big fun of all things Rae Dunn, so I thought chalkboard pumpkins with a Rae Dunn theme would be fun. Let’s get to the easy tutorial.

Supplies

Step 1.

Remove the pumpkin stem and paint it with the DecoArt twinkles in silver. This stuff is seriously cool! It’s brush on glitter paint, so no more messes with glitter everywhere.

Step 2.

Paint the foam pumpkin with two coats of chalkboard paint. The foam really holds the paint well, so two coats is all you’ll need.

Step 3.

Place the Handwritten Font letters that you want on the foam pumpkin and use the squeegee to add the chalkology paste.

Step 4.

Remove the transfer and let the paste dry. I let it dry overnight and then gave the entire pumpkin a coat of clear acrylic sealer.

These cute chalkboard pumpkins were made for my adorable nieces, Lori and Maggie, who are 4 yo and 2 yo.

Their names were added to the front of the pumpkins and BOO was added to the back.

At the last minute I added a few little bats to make them Halloweenish, but not too scary for the kiddos.
