I wanted to share a few simple ideas for a fun Winter Snowman Mantel. Living in New England we know a little something about Winter! Once all the Christmas decor is put away things look a little bare. I’m not quite ready to jump into Valentines Day yet, so a good alternative is Winter decor. I wanted to go with a snowman theme, as nothing says Winter like snowmen! I shared these fun scrap wood snowmen last week. I like to flank the mantel with similar size items and these cute little guys are perfect on each end of the mantel. The vases filled with winter stems are a nice anchor. I made a quick and easy wreath to hang above the mantel with a little snowman family in the center. I found the snowman sled at a thrift store for $5.00! I love to use white fur in Winter decor and just laid an IKEA faux fur rug over the chair. You see the cute snowman pillow? I painted him today. There is a surprise on the other side. If you have visited my blog before, you know I use both sides of everything! Come back next week for a simple tutorial on this no-sew pillow. A Let It Snow banner completes this fun look. Of course, a cup of hot cocoa by a roaring fire is a must in these harsh Winter months!

Thanks Emily! I have been home recuperating from knee surgery, so I have had more time than usual to get things in order. But, something about snowmen make me smile. It was good therapy creating!

This looks so great, Michelle! I love the idea of transitioning from Christmas decor to winter decor. I’m not ready to put up Valentine’s items, either. All of the snowmen are wonderful. Thanks for sharing with us at Snickerdoodle.
