Today is all about living or family rooms. I am sharing our living room, which is our main hang out space for watching movies or just hanging out.
This distressed coffee table is a piece I don’t think I will ever tire of. I have had it about 20 years-long before the Farmhouse craze, but it still fits in with my décor, though my tastes have definitely changed over the years.
The best thing is with the natural chips and distressed look, I never had to worry about the kids damaging it when they were younger!
I’ve totally been on a pineapple kick lately-aren’t they everywhere you look now? I scored this beautiful ceramic pineapple at the craft store for $5-originally $25!
Can’t beat that. I filled the large conch shell-collected on a family vacation-with faux succulents. To create dimension, I placed it inside a wire cloche on a tray.
Trays are a great way to add dimension!
Several items in my living room are thrift store projects like this large chalkboard that I made from an old mirror.
I have had this cabinet for years and love to put seasonal fresh flowers from the yard in this thrift store basket with mason jars. The storage is handy for off season items.
This armoire holds our television and has plenty of storage underneath for dvd’s. This was the first piece of furniture we bought as newlyweds in 1988.
There is definitely something to be said for quality furniture. You may pay a little more but it will last forever!

This thrift store makeover was easy to achieve with DecoArt Max Paint. I love to infuse pops of color throughout the living room.
This rolled arm nail head trim couch is something I bought when we moved to the Townhouse close to 3 years ago. I really took my time with the purchase and did a lot of research.
It was important to have good quality that would last with daily use, but also something with character.
I’ve talked about my “mom chair” before-a favorite spot for reading and blogging!
Another thrift store find redone in a coastal blue fills the space on the side of the fireplace.
The mantel is my favorite spot to decorate. I love to switch out the banner seasonally as well as fresh flowers from the yard.
Nothing says Summer to me like Sunflowers!
This refinished hutch completes the space on the other side of the fireplace. I hope you enjoyed this Summer Living Room tour.
