Give the groomsmen gifts they’ll actually use. These DIY wedding groomsmen gifts won’t end up in a drawer after the wedding.
These personalized beer mugs are great for DIY wedding groomsmen gifts, and they are something they’ll actually use long after the wedding is over.
Welcome to Our Crafty Mom. Today I am back with the Wedding Series.
I shared gift ideas for the Bridesmaids here and today it is all about the groomsmen.
I received product from Oriental Trading in exchange for this post. This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. Please see my full disclosure here.
If you have not visited here before, my niece is getting married in 2018 and we have been having a lot of fun planning.
I am so thankful to be included!
In case you can’t tell from my use of explanation points, I am pretty excited!
Look at the stunning venue where the reception will be held:
Talk about rustic elegance, from the chandeliers to the ceiling, it is truly breathtaking.
For the groomsmen gifts the bride wanted something that they would actually be able to use after the Wedding.
Now let’s be honest, what is something a guy in his mid-late twenties will really use? A beer mug of course!
Have it monogrammed and it is a useful gift-even if they don’t drink beer.
Look how cool these are:
We thought it would be fun to have something in the mug that they could enjoy and decided on a cigar and a mini bottle of whiskey.
In Rhode Island we call them nips, but when I referenced this before a lot of readers had never heard of nips.
I’m told Rhode Island has a lot of original words, but that is a story for another day!
Of course we couldn’t just put a plain old cigar and whiskey bottle in the mug.
I searched Pinterest and sure enough there were tons of options for free personalized labels for not only the whiskey bottle and cigar, but also for a matchbook.
Here are links to the free printables I used:
- Hey There Home-Printable Cigar Labels
- Swell and Grand-Mini Whiskey Bottle Printable
- Elli.com-Chalkboard Matchbox Favor
Doesn’t it make a difference to have these items personalized?
It just makes it so much more meaningful.
I wanted to have a gift bag for each mug and decided to go with a classic black and white tux look:
These are so simple to make.
Here is an easy tutorial.
Wedding Groomsmen Gifts Supplies
- Monogrammed Beer Mugs
- White Medium Gift Bags
- Black Tissue Paper
- Paper Shred
- Embroidery Floss
- Black Fabric Scraps
- Glue Gun
I cut the fabric to about 2.5″x6″ in a double layer.
I simply folded it in half and tied the embroidery floss in the center. It is that simple.
Then I used hot glue to attach it to the gift bag.
Add the paper shreds to the mug along with your goodies and place it in the gift bag.
Finish it off with the black tissue paper and a gift tag and you have a great groomsmen gift!
