Antique End Table Makeover With Milk Paint

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to Our Crafty Mom. If you’ve visited here before you know how much I love to refinish furniture.

Antique end table

Today I’m excited to share an Antique End Table Makeover With Milk Paint.

I received product in exchange for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own. I only promote product I believe in. OFMP

My sister had this beautiful carved piece in her basement for years. The top had some water damage and it needed a couple of small repairs, but the detailing on this piece is just stunning.

Look at the beautiful claw foot legs and carvings in this piece.

My style is more of a cottage, distressed style and I wanted to use this piece in my living room, so I went with my favorite Old Fashioned Milk Paint.

I painted the entire piece in Snow White adding Extra Bond as I did not want it to crackle.

If you want the chippy, crackle look that people love, leave out the Extra-Bond.

Now, remember the water damage to the top that I mentioned? An easy solution is to cover it with an image transfer.

I used this beautiful medallion from Iron Orchid Designs. It gives an unexpected touch to this end table.

Next, I used Daddy Van’s Antique Brown Wax to give it dimension and the aged look I was hoping for.

Finally, the piece was sealed with Safecoat AcriGlaze which works beautifully With Milk Paint.

The lighter color and dark wax really enhances the carvings and detail of this Antique End Table and I am thrilled with how it looks in my living room.

One of the many things I love about OFMP is there is no waste-you mix the amount you need so it really lasts.

Not to mention the fact that you can experiment with your own colors-it’s really so cool.

Your table turned out beautifully. I haven't used this brand of milk paint. I'll have to give it a try. Thank you for sharing at Snickerdoodle Create~Bake~Make link party!
