Welcome to Our Crafty Mom! I am so happy to partner with Walls Republic as they supplied the wallpaper used in this post.

It seems like only yesterday when I was newly married and moving into my first home-excited about being able to decorate an entire house, not just my childhood bedroom!
The first thing I did was go to the local wallpaper store and take home books and books of samples to find the perfect wallpaper for my new home.
That was no easy task. However, it is so much easier now with online shopping.
The excitement of finding the perfect sample is still the same though and I was just giddy when I received the samples I chose in the mail from Walls Republic.
Here is one of my very favorite faux wood samples:
It has the perfect hint of silver blue and neutral colors that I love to decorate with.
Wallpaper does not have to be used just on walls though and it was a lot of fun coming up with unexpected ways to use this beautiful paper.
Let me show you 5 ways that I used it and then I will go over each one.
5 Unexpected Ways to Decorate With Wallpaper
Create A Wall Clock
This may very well be my favorite, but then I look at the next picture and I think that is my favorite!
You seriously would not know this clock is made out of wallpaper. It looks like the gorgeous shiplap you see in all the home makeover shows.
The only way you would know is if you actually touch it.
I simply used a large round piece of wood and wallpaper glue to attach the wallpaper to the wood, then stenciled the numbers.
The clock mechanism was picked up at the craft store with my ever present 40% off coupon!
Create Wall Art As A Focal Point
This wall art was so easy to create. Just use a piece of particle board or plywood from your local home supply store in the size you want.
Use wallpaper glue to adhere the wallpaper to the board. It is that simple!
This is the perfect focal point to go over this fireplace mantel and really brighten up the brick.
Also, aren’t the arrows the coolest? This will be a great piece to decorate seasonally as well.
Transform a Hutch or Bookshelf
This hutch was completely transformed by this wallpaper. It looks like a custom piece now rather than a standard hutch found in most furniture stores.
Of course I had to paint the hutch the gorgeous blue that you see as it just made the wallpaper pop even more!
Update a Thrift Store Find
This curio previously looked like this:
While the paint helped update this piece, the wallpaper totally gave it the coastal vibe I was going for in no time! You can see the full tutorial here
Create Wainscoting on A Staircase or Wall
This staircase was completely updated with the look of wainscoting using wallpaper and molding.
Isn’t this just stunning? It was so easy to create and can be used in so many ways.
This would be perfect in a dining room as well and I know I will be using this technique again.
Walls Republic has literally thousands of wallpapers and murals for you to choose from including traditional to modern and everything in between.
You receive large free samples (some exclusions) of the item you are interested in so there are no mistakes as to whether or not you like it.
But on the off chance you don’t, they have a 30 day money back guarantee (see return policy).
Their website also has great full size photos so you can get an even better idea of how the product will look in a room.
These are just a few ideas of how you can use wallpaper.
But of course you can also use it the good old fashioned way and wallpaper an entire room or even an accent wall-which is another plan of mine for my niece.
Thank you to Walls Republic for sponsoring this post. This really was such a fun project!
Have a great day!
I would love it if you would sign up for my newsletter so you never miss a post.

These are all so clever, but I think my favorite is in the back of the hutch! I love that look!
