Today I am sharing a Color Cord Cage Light!

I was so very excited to have won a beautiful Color Cord & Thomas Edison light fixture from Color Cord.com .

I really wanted to use it in my bedroom as a reading light.

However, I have a cathedral ceiling in this room so knew I couldn’t hang it that way.

The wheels have been turning for the past week or so. I also looked on their website & on Pinterest for inspiration.

I loved the ones that were attached to an old door or pallet. I went to the Scituate Art Festival & was on the hunt for an old door.

I was able to get this door for $10!

Since I wanted to give it an industrial farmhouse look I simply gave it a wash with turquoise paint.

I also found an old spool at the Fair for $3.  I just attached this to the door with a couple of nails.

I ran the cord behind and over the top of the door & wrapped the cord around the spool hanging the cage light in front.

I just love it! The Thomas Edison lightbulb is so cool!

I added a little rhinestone button to the front to cover the hole in the spool. I went with a silver cord & cage fixture.
