Make a beautiful paper fan feature wall that can be used in so many different ways.
It is so easy to create a feature wall using paper fans. This is perfect for a nursery, kids room, play room or even a craft room like I am sharing today.
We are already on Week 4 of the Craft Room Makeover Challenge and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! If you follow me on Instagram you saw a sneak peek of the DIY Desk that my Dad made for me.
Hopefully I will be able to show you the finished piece this week. It took a little time, but I am loving it! Let me show you how easy this is to create.
Create A Beautiful Feature Wall With Paper Fans
In Week 1 of the Craft Room Makeover Challenge I mentioned that I wanted to have a feature wall. Originally I was going to use faux wood wall paper, but as I like to change things often, I decided against this.
The thought of removing wall paper just didn’t excite me!
I received product from Oriental Trading used in this post, however all opinions are 100% mine. This post contains affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Please see my full disclosure here.
However, I knew I wanted something that would have impact and be easily removed. A few years ago I made an extra large paper fan out of vintage sheet music for my niece and loved it.
While the finished project was cool, it took a long time. The thought of folding 12 large paper fans for this project was a little daunting.
Well, Oriental Trading makes it easy with their line of paper fans.
I ordered two sets of the Vintage Collection which comes in a set of 6. They are so inexpensive at $8.99 for six and all you have to do is take them out of the wrapping and secure them with the attached adhesive show in the picture below:
I did add a few extra Glue Dots just to be safe. While browsing the Dollar Store I found poster tack. Have you ever heard of this? I certainly didn’t, but I grabbed a few packages and sure enough it worked like a charm!
The soft, feminine colors work perfectly in this craft room. The floral paper fan is my favorite:

Layering the paper fans really adds dimension and texture to this feature wall. This is an inexpensive way to decorate and there are no nail holes!
If you tire of it, just pull them down-though I love it so much this may be something I keep up! Couldn’t you picture this in a nursery or child’s bedroom?
Be sure to come back next week for the big reveal! I have a few surprises that I have managed to keep hidden and that is not easy for me 🙂 Did you see the IKEA Moppe Hack I shared last week?
I definitely want to get more of these little cabinets. They are perfect for a craft table and can be stacked.
There is still time to enter the HomeRight Steam Machine Giveaway shared below. You guys, I am not kidding you when I tell you this little machine is amazing!

Ok, I love the fans too! And I love the fact that they can be changed out easily. My granddaughter would love them in her room too. Great idea! Thanks for sharing on Party in Your PJs. Pinned and shared.
