Farmhouse Style Gather Sign
Supplies
- Carbon Transfer Paper
- Deco Art Americana Chalky Finish Paint
- Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Markers
- Min Wax Wood Stain, quart, Dark Walnut
- Purdy Paint Brush, 2-1/2 inch
36″x26″ Plywood
1″x2″ Wood Trim cut in 38″x28″ strips
Start by painting the plywood with two coats of white chalk paint, letting it dry in between coats.
Next, choose a style font that you like and print out the word “Gather” with each letter being large enough to fit on a single sheet of paper.
Simply tape the 6 sheets together and lay the carbon paper on the plywood.
Using a ball point pen trace each letter firmly onto the plywood.
Simply fill in the letters with the paint pen and you are just about done!
Lastly, stain the wood trim and use wood glue to attach it to the sign.
You can also add a few finish nails if you want.
For hanging, attach cup hooks to each side and then attach with picture hangung wire.
It’s better to place the hooks on the side do the picture lays flat against the wall.

This is such a great DIY Farmhouse sign. If my local store would be willing to cut the wood pieces for me (and I think they will!), it would be super easy for me to do the rest on my own. Thanks for this lovely idea and tutorial. Stopping by from the #HomeMattersParty linky.
