Hello and welcome to Our Crafty Mom. The Dollar Store Divas are back featuring DIY St. Patrick’s Day Dollar Store crafts.

Be sure to read to the end of this post to see the rest of the fun dollar store decorating ideas.

I don’t do a ton of decorating for St. Patrick’s Day. Usually I just hang up my DIY St. Patrick’s Day wreath on the front door and update my letter board with a seasonal quote and banner.

This year I thought it would be fun to make a few decorative spheres to place in my favorite antique dough bowl. It’s an easy way to decorate for each season.

It normally holds DIY moss balls that I made a couple of years ago using this same tutorial. You can easily make 6 of these spheres for under $5!

Let me show you how simple these St. Patrick’s Day decorative balls are in case you want to make your own.

Supplies Needed For St. Patrick’s Day DIY Decorative Spheres

Step 1.

Cut the scarf in strips about 1″ in width and 10″ in length using fabric scissors or a rotary cutter.

Step 2.

I used three different scarves to make three different styles, but you can easily make six spheres with three scarves.

Step 3.

Add mod podge directly to the plastic baseball and brush it all around the ball.

Step 4.

Place the fabric strips onto the ball until you are happy with the placement. There will be a lot of loose threads which you can easily trim.

Step 5.

Allow the decorative spheres to dry. I opted not to add a top coat of mod podge as I liked how the fabric looked as is. But you can certainly add a layer of mod podge.

One of the scarves had tassels on the end, so I left them on. They look really cute. Plus, I fully believe that everything is better with tassels!

These are so fun. I love them and that dough bowl. You could make a lot of different types of these with all of the scarves the Dollar Tree carries now. You always make such cute decor.
