Welcome! I wanted to share a quick project with you today. It is a garden wagon turned chalkboard cooler. If you’ve visited Our Crafty Mom before, you know that my Dad is my greatest “picker”. He seems to have a gift for finding things left on the side of the road that are either in really great shape, or of great quality that a little love will bring back to life. About a month ago he had a great day of finds that included this garden wagon. I don’t know if that is actually what it was, but that is what we called it. Here is a before pic:

I really wasn’t sure what to use it for, so I reached out to my FB friends and sure enough one of my creative friends said “would a cooler fit in it”? That got me very excited, because when I have summer parties I like to leave the cooler on the deck with the “adult beverages” and coolers are not very pretty. I took measurements and while I was at Big Lots looking for items for my deck makeover, I found a cooler that had the exact measurements to fit in the cooler-yay! Of course, I couldn’t just stick the cooler inside-I had to do something fun. Here it is:

I love using chalkboard paint. I would pretty much paint everything with chalkboard paint if I could. I may have 5 chalkboards throughout my house. I just think they are fun and I love chalkboard art and inspirational sayings. I thought it would be cool to have a chalkboard on the front so I could write what was in the cooler. I gave it 4 coats of chalkboard paint and cleaned it up a little. Make sure you “season” the chalkboard prior to use. There are all sorts of youtube or pinterest pins with easy how to’s for seasoning the board. I put the cooler inside and brought it out on my deck just waiting for my first Spring barbecue! I wish I could find another one for the “under 21” cooler. Dad-keep an eye out 🙂

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Howdy! Quick question that's completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My web site looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4.

I'm trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this problem. If you have any recommendations, please share. Thank you!
