Making ornaments is something I look forward to each year. I love adding personalized ones to Christmas gifts for an extra little gift for friends and family.

Plus, I love to add new DIY ornaments to my own tree each year! My Christmas tree has a blue and white theme, so I had to make some chinoiserie inspired Christmas ornaments. They are the first thing of think of with a blue and white theme.

I’ll admit to having a bit of a chinoiserie obsession this year and I totally thank my friend, Amy from Atta Girl Says. I saw her stunning chinoiserie chic oyster shells and was totally inspired!

Here is the simple tutorial for pretty blue and white Christmas ornaments

Painted Chinoiserie Christmas Ornaments

Supplies

STEP 1.

Start with a white glass ornament. Be sure it is free of dust or fingerprints.

STEP 2.

Use the thin paint brush to add your design to the ornament. I followed this great design from PMQ For Two on a gorgeous chinoiserie lamp she painted!

STEP 3.

Let the paint dry completely overnight and add a ribbon for hanging.

One thing I always say with crafting, is to have fun with it. Don’t stress and know there are no mistakes. If you paint something you don’t like, just paint over it.

These ornaments will mean so much more because you painted it yourself. Now that my kids are grown, they look forward to seeing what new ornament I will make for them each year.
