How To Set A Simple Summer Tablescape in Blue And White

Sharing is caring!

Let me show you how easy it is to set a simple summer tablescape, in pretty shades of blue and white, inspired by freshly picked blueberries from a recent visit.

Blue and White Summer Tablescape

Hello and welcome to Our Crafty Mom. We’re so glad you’re here to join us in this late summer tablescape blog hop hosted by  Celebrate & Decorate . The fun started on Monday with Debbee’s Buzz kicking off the tour.

Late Summer Tablescape 2019

If you haven’t already seen the tablescapes from the past few days, you can click on the links at the end of this post so you don’t miss any-and you definitely don’t want to miss any!

There are over 25 bloggers sharing lots of ideas to celebrate the end of summer. I’ve been participating in these hops since 2017, which totally blows my mind. There are so many great tips and tricks shared by these talented ladies and I’ve learned so much over the years.

You can see my prior summer tablescapes here:

Seeded eucalyptus, white alstroemeria and lily of the valley in a white iron stone pitcher set the stage for this simple summer tablescape.

These beautiful flowers are from a wedding that my daughter attended over the weekend. She knows how much I love flowers and was so sweet to bring them home for me. She’s a keeper for sure, lol!

The scent of the eucalyptus is amazing, but to enhance it even more I added a few drops of eucalyptus essential oils from Simply Earth.

We are at peak blueberry picking season in New Hampshire and my tablescape was actually inspired by the beautiful blue of the blueberries I picked over the weekend.

One of my favorite ways to greet guests is to have some kind of favor or treat at each place setting, so what better way to celebrate summer than with blueberry shortcake?

dessert shells summer tablescape

This dessert is nothing fancy, but it looks fancy served in pretty thrift store glasses. The dessert shells fit perfectly. Just add cool whip and blueberries for a tasty treat. Plus, the rich color of the blueberries looks so pretty with the blue and white place mats I found at Dollar Tree.

Be sure to come back tomorrow as I also found some great fall items there that I’ll be sharing tomorrow!

Summer Tablescape Ideas

blueberries floating in champagne

One tip I learned several years ago from the decorating queen herself, Martha Stewart, was to float seasonal fruit in champagne for a festive look. Place the fruit in the freezer for a couple of hours and it will also serve as ice cubes!

The beautiful navy blue dinner plates were also from the Dollar Tree. One thing I’ve learned about shopping their is if you see something you like, buy it. It sells out quick!

I only bought four of these dinner plates and went back a few days later to get another four and they were totally sold out. But you can order online and have it shipped to your local store for free.

That’s exactly what I did. These dishes were too pretty to pass up and they totally go with my navy and white DIY buffalo check curtains.

The extra large wood slice is one of my favorite pieces to use to elevate a centerpiece. It can totally change the look of a tablescape. You can use it in a laid back farmhouse style, or even in an elegant setting. It’s so versatile!

A few pieces of sea glass complete this simple summer tablescape and give some pop of color to the wood slice. I hope you enjoyed this post. If so, please PIN the below image.

That's so pretty. I've never really done things like this because when we have family gatherings, there are so many of us that buffet-style is all we ever do. lol
