Before we get to the giveaway details, I want to show you how to make a DIY serving tray that makes a perfect Mother’s Day Gift.

For some reason, I always seem to be looking for a serving tray-usually to bring my daughter soup or breakfast in bed.

But this serving tray is totally for me. Let’s get to the details.

How To Make A DIY Serving Tray

Supplies

Instructions

Here is a very helpful image showing the four easy steps for working with Chalk Couture transfers:

chalk couture transfer tips

Step 1.

Peel your chalk transfer from its backer pulling from top to bottom to avoid stretching.  The transfer will be sticky.

Step 2.

Fuzz your transfer before using it, by pressing the sticky side onto a dish towel to remove some of the stickiness.

Step 3.

Place the transfer onto the center of the pallet sign and press to smooth out the transfer. Be sure there are no bubbles where the transfer image is, so there is no bleeding.

Step 4.

Use the squeegee to spread a thin layer of the chalkology paste to the transfer, scraping off any excess.

Step 5.

Add the handles to each end of the tray using the included hardware.

This project seriously took less than an hour to make. If you can find the sign already painted, even less than that!

There are so many uses for this tray and with the garden theme, it would be great to use outside too.

You definitely want to finish it with a clear sealant though. Is this something you could see yourself making?

I have to warn you that Chalk Couture is very addictive! It’s so easy that you will feel like a professional artist in no time!

Hi Michelle! I love this idea of yours. And thank you for the detailed guide. Is there a problem if I get air bubbles when putting on the sticker? Thank you!
