Supplies for DIY Pumpkin Wine Glass Craft
Here is what you need to make your own fall pumpkin craft.
- Wine Glass – check out dollar stores, thrift stores, or use one you have on hand.
- Acrylic Craft Paint – I used spiced pumpkin.
- Embellishments – fall leaves and florals, Halloween spiders, assorted ribbon.
- Flameless LED Candles – I ordered a couple of sets from Lowe’s and love that they are on a timer. You can also find battery operated candles at dollar stores, craft stores and most home stores.

How to Make Pumpkin Wine Glass Candle Holders
For this tutorial, I am following the same steps that I used for the painted mason jars.
This is my favorite way to paint glasses. You are painting the inside of the glass so you get an incredibly smooth look on the glass.
Step 1. Clean the glasses
Clean the jars with rubbing alcohol. You can just use a paper towel. You want to make sure there are no fingerprints or dust, etc.
Step 2. Pour Paint Into Wine Glass
Slowly pour your paint into the wine glass. It is best to start with a small amount.
You can always add more. It takes very little paint to cover the glass.
Slowly rotate the glass around so the paint moves across and covers the entire glass.

If you don’t have enough paint, just add a bit more.
Step 3. Let Dry Upside Down
Once you’ve covered the glass with paint, place it upside down to dry. You will be surprised at how much paint comes out.

I use parchment paper, as it’s easy to remove. It is best to let it dry overnight.
Step 4. Make a Bow
The easiest way to make a bow is to cut ribbon strips in the same length using different widths and styles.
I’m an impatient crafter, so I very rarely measure. I believe mine are about 3-4″ in length. Hold it up to your glass to determine the length that you like.

Just layer the ribbon and secure with a pipe cleaner. Tie it around the wine glass stem.
Step 5. Add Embellishments
Now for the fun part! Add pretty flowers, fall leaves and ribbon for a fall wine glass candle holder.

For Halloween, add a creepy crawly spider, or other spooky decor.
Simply place the pillar candle holder on top and you are ready to decorate your home for the season.

The thing I love is these are interchangeable. Only one wine glass is used and nothing is permanent.
Once fall is over, simply untie the pipe cleaner to remove the ribbon and leaves and replace with the Halloween ribbons.
The spider is attached with double-sided temporary glue dots, also from Dollar Tree. Easy peasy!
