I know it may be a little early for some of you to put up your Christmas Tree and I get that. I’m not quite ready yet either, but when you make a lot of your Christmas ornaments, you have to start early.
You want to make sure you have everything ready when it is time to decorate. So I’m hoping to inspire you with these oh so simple chalkboard ornaments. Every Thursday for the next four weeks I’ll be sharing a quick and easy Christmas ornament so you have time to make your own!
- Wood Chalkboard Ornaments – I found mine at Michaels 40% off!
- Chalk Couture White Paste
- Peace, Joy, Believe Transfer
- Ribbon of your choice – This pretty burlap and buffalo check is also from Michaels.
These seriously took me about 5 minutes to make, but I love how they turned out. You do not have to spend a ton of time to make cute Christmas ornaments.
Here is a picture from Chalk Couture which shows how simple it is.
Did I mention how fun? I used it for the first time when I made this oversized chalkboard from a thrift store mirror:
So all you have to do is lay the transfer on the ornament. It is sticky so no tape needed-yay! Add a small amount of paste, scraping off what is left to save for later.
It creates a crisp image in no time! The cool part is, like a chalkboard it is erasable with water. But it will not come off unless you wipe it with water.
If you want it permanent, spray a clear sealant.
