If you follow me on Instagram you know that my daughter just graduated this past weekend and I have been working on all things Graduation for her party next week!
As a lot of her College age friends are attending, I wanted to have a fun favor that was not too expensive, but that the younger crowd would also enjoy.
I saw these cool Wine Cork Succulent Magnets from It All Started With Paint and thought they were perfect for the party.
These are so easy to make and even easier because I use faux succulents, so no potting soil is needed. Let me show you what I used.
Quick And Easy DIY Wine Cork Succulent Magnets
- Natural Wine Corks 50 Count
- Mini Artificial Succulents Picks
- Surebonder Cordless High Temperature Glue Gun
- Round Ceramic Industrial Magnets
Save those wine corks and get your friends to save them too! They can be used for so many cool craft projects. Did you see the wine cork table top I made for my niece?
You can see it here. Start by cutting out a small area in the center of the cork. I just used a utility knife.
I’ve mentioned this before, but my favorite and most used craft tool is this cordless glue gun that I received for Christmas. It makes it so easy to work on crafts like this.
Simply hot glue the succulent into the wine cork and then hot glue the magnet to the back of the cork. These magnets are industrial strength and are the perfect size for the corks.
I have a very large magnetic board that I plan to hang up at the party so the guests can each take one on their way out. One down, 49 to go! But this was so quick and easy to make that I am not stressing.
Plus my daughter loves succulents so she is really excited to give these as favors. I do plan to add a small thank you tag to each one using my Cricut Explore Air Machine so I can make them in bulk.
Here it is hanging on the refrigerator. I think they are so cute. When I have them all finished and hanging on the magnetic board I will share an updated picture.
