One of the many things I love about blogging is finding great companies to partner with. Today I am partnering with Cutting Edge Stencils to share how to stencil a pillow the quick and easy way! I also have great news for you! Cutting Edge Stencils was kind enough to offer a giveaway to one lucky reader! Please be sure to enter the Rafflecopter below. If you have visited Our Crafty Mom before you will see that I love stenciling. One of my all time favorite projects was a seahorse stencil that I used on my daughter’s headboard. This is a cool technique using spackle. Here is the link if you want to check that out. Coastal-headboard-makeover
Like so many of you, I have a slight obsession with throw pillows. However, they can be very costly. Cutting Edge Stencils totally has you covered! Their Paint A Pillow Kit not only includes everything you need to create your own beautiful pillow, but they take all the guess work out of it. Let’s get to the tutorial!
How To Stencil A Pillow-Quick And Easy Tutorial
You will receive your pillow kit beautifully packaged in it’s own box which you can later use to store it. Look at this:
Here is what is inside:
Kit Includes:
- Stenciling frame (pat.pend.)
- Reusable pillow stencil
- 17”x17” Cotton pillow cover
- Pillow insert: linen/down alternative
- Mini roller and 1/2″ stencil brush
- Paint tray and stirring stick
- Illustrated instructions
- Free mini stencil and practice fabric swatc
Just pick up your fabric paint and you are ready to create a pillow that you will just love.
Tutorial
Take out the stenciling frame from the box. It already has the pillow cover secured with the stencil already on it so you are ready to paint. It really couldn’t be any easier.
I chose this lovely damask print. I wanted to use two colors so I went with blue and gray. Use the paint roller included along with the paint tray and add your first color. I started with blue.
Next, I used the included stencil brush to add the second gray color.
Remove the stencil and let the paint dry. I immediately rinse off the stencil with soap and water so it is ready to use the next time.
Then just add your pillow insert and sit back to admire your beautiful new pillow!

I keep the stencil stored in the box. Another great thing about these pillow kits is you now have a stencil to use on other projects. Remember the stenciled headboard I showed you above? That came as a pillow kit and I used it four different ways as shown here four easy diy projects using seahorse stencil
Let’s get to that giveaway!
