Make an American Flag cheese tray for all of your summer parties like Memorial Day, Fourth of July or a summer tray for cheese and crackers.

We love a good charcuterie board for any occasion or family get-together.

With the official kick-off of summer just around the corner with Memorial Day, I thought it would be fun to share a quick and easy Caprese style cheese tray.

To make it extra festive serve it in the shape of a flag! Isn’t this so cute?

American Flag Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Tray

Ingredients 

  • Tomato Slices
  • Fresh Mozzarella 
  • French Bread Slices
  • Olives 
  • Star Cookie Cutter

How to Make a Flag Cheese Board

Place the olives in a square bowl with the star cookie cutter on top.

Slice the tomatoes in ½ inch slices (we love this tomato slicing knife).

Slice the fresh mozzarella about the same size as the tomatoes.

Lay out the tomato & fresh mozzarella slices in the shape of a flag.

Slice the French bread and lay it on the cheese tray to create a flag pole.

You can also place fresh basil leaves around the flag and serve with balsamic vinegar.

    What Are The Best Serving Boards For A Cheese Tray? 

    You can use any large board including wood, slate, marble in any shape or size. It’s best not to overcrowd the board though and leave room to include ramekins to hold the condiments, which also add to the visual appeal.

    What Are The Best Cheeses For A Charcuterie Board?

    Include a variety of cheeses, with a combination of both soft and hard kinds of cheese, with the hard cheese being sliced ahead of time.

    It’s always best to include an odd number of cheeses, usually 3 or 5.
