Christmas Mantel Decor
These Christmas mantel decorating ideas are simple to follow and perfect for creating a warm and cozy holiday home.
A collection of bottle brush trees in varying heights, nestled among sparkling fairy lights and rustic garlands create a vintage vibe and and add playful charm.
Whether you prefer a traditional look or a more modern design, decorating your mantel with these adorable trees is the perfect way to spark joy this Christmas season.
Decorating with Bottle Brush Trees
Several years ago I scored a box of green vintage bottle brush trees for $5! For this mantel, I decided to use this collection, along with several store-bought bottle brush trees, that I’ve picked up over the past few years.
Grouping a collection of items together is an easy way to make a statement. Don’t be afraid to mix old and new when decorating. Each tree displayed adds texture and warmth with a bit of nostalgia.
Using a variety of sizes and colors also adds dimension and is pleasing to the eye. To bring in even more texture, I included a few glass and gold Christmas Trees.
I love the snow-dusted greens alongside the pops of metallics and snowy white trees. Because this is where we watch television, I was careful not to obstruct the view. A couple of books on each end raise the television so there is a little more room to “play”.
Add Garland
The front of the mantel is decorated with a trio of garlands for even more texture and dimension. The snowy garland has a natural feel to it with pinecones and stems. This is my favorite garland! I’ve had it for several years, but did find a similar garland on Amazon.
To tie in the gold bottle brush trees, I added a garland of gold Christmas bells, a recent purchase from Hobby Lobby. Be sure to stop by next week as I have a tutorial for DIY holiday bells.
The final garland used is a DIY pompom garland to tie in the snowy winter wonderland feel. This Christmas mantel can easily be updated for winter by removing a few items.
See how I used this same pompom garland in a winter mantel here.
To compliment this cheerful display, I brought back my favorite DIY Santa wall art. Can you believe the pretty velvet Santa was a $5 thrift store find?
I’m obsessed with the green glass candle warmer light that my sister bought me for my birthday. This makes a perfect holiday gift if you are looking for something special.
Here it is with the light on:
It has a timer with 3 different dimmer settings.
I’m not a fan of the television over the mantel, but to make it more visually appealing, I uploaded a winter tree image from YouTube.
Fairly lights, also on a timer, finish off the beautiful mantel.
My cat, Nala, was determined to be in the photos. She hasn’t moved from this spot-smart cat!
