It is Week 3 of the Craft Room Makeover Challenge. I missed week two due to family illness, but am hoping to play catch up in the next couple of weeks. This week was all about purging and let me tell you purge we did. Well actually my daughter did the purging as this is her room and she had a closet full of stuff to go through.
This post contains affiliate links at no extra cost to you. I received product from Oriental Trading shown in this post, however all opinions are 100% mine. Please see my full disclosure here.
This is what was purged:
I did keep the silver bucket, but it is amazing what was in the closet that she really hasn’t touched in a couple of years. Mostly old dorm room stuff and like I mentioned before, lots of stuffed animals which I donated.
Craft Room Makeover Update
Color Scheme
I usually decorate in neutrals, but I am going totally glam and girly in this craft room. I figure since I have waited about 30 years to have a dedicated space I might as well make it pretty right? The room is painted a pretty sage green and that is staying. I plan to add pops of pink or blush, gold, white and navy!
Here is a mini craft cabinet I just painted for the craft table with these colors:

These curtains with gold detail used to hang in the living room and are perfect for this large window in the craft room:
Right in front of this window with a gorgeous view, that I hope will inspire me, will be a DIY Desk. This is a project that I have wanted to try for some time. My Dad built me a large wood desk top shown here:
I plan to share this next week, but I will give you a hint on the finish-it involves epoxy! I used it on a small table shown below:
But for the desk I am adding color! Now I also need to have a space for my daughter to sleep when she visits. I didn’t want anything too large and ended up getting a futon. They really have come a long way since the college futons I remember from years ago. The one I picked is very streamlined and had navy:
I’ll share a full view when we do the reveal in a couple of weeks and of course I will have new pillows. But so far I am really happy with how it is coming together. Next week I will share some storage ideas. Today I have to share one thing that I’ve wanted forever:
A letter board! I received it from Oriental Trading. I can’t wait to hang this by my craft table and write inspiring messages. I love that it has a white background. It is a nice, large size measuring 16″ x 16″. You can find it here. Be sure to hop on over to the other crafty bloggers participating in this craft room makeover challenge. There are so many great ideas and you are sure to be inspired! Also, stop by tomorrow as I will have a really great giveaway that will help you get clean and organized in 2018!

You (and Amanda) did a great job purging. It can be difficult. I have a hard time just figuring out where to start. Your vision for the room is nice and I can't wait to see the big reveal!!
