DIY Lighted Wood Christmas Sign
Supplies
The Wise Men stencil is one of my favorite Christmas images and the size was the perfect fit for the Framed Rustic Pallet from Walnut Hollow.
I love that the pallet is framed. It just gives it a more finished look.
As I wanted the natural color of the frame to be used for the stencil, I placed the vinyl pieces of the stencil down first and painted over it.
As I decorate in neutrals with pops of blue, I painted the frame with two coats of a rich deep blue.
This also is a good color to represent the night sky.
While the piece was still wet, I used a tooth pick to remove the vinyl.
Then I used a small brush to fill in any spots that were light and also touched it up.
Now to add the lights!
I used 35 ct mini lights and just taped them to the back of the frame.
You are able to see them through the slats which is so cool!
I hope you enjoyed this post DIY Lighted Christmas Sign and will be inspired to make your own handmade gifts this Holiday Season.
Don’t forget to take a look at all of the other creative handmade ideas below.

Oh I love this! And I love that it doesn't involve a cricut or vinyl cutting machine as I don't have one of those. Thank you for sharing the stencil source! That's a great resource.
