Decorate your home for early fall with a warm and welcoming tablescape with buffalo check and sunflowers.
Welcome to the Fall Tablescape Blog Hop for 2018 where I am sharing an Early Fall Tablescape using two of my favorite things-buffalo check and sunflowers!
This is also the first tablescape I am sharing in my new home, so you might notice I am just a little bit excited!
This fall tablescape is part of a fun blog hop hosted by Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate. There are 20 talented bloggers sharing their gorgeous tables with you, so be sure to scroll to the end of this post to visit their blogs as well.

Fall Tablescape With Buffalo Check And Sunflowers
We are in the middle of a heat wave, but that didn’t stop me from finding real white pumpkins at the grocery store! I was on the hunt for sunflowers and was shocked to see the pumpkins mixed in with gourds!
I may have done a little happy dance in the produce section. But I knew they would complete my fall tablescape perfectly!
Would you believe the sunflower dinnerware is from the dollar store? I picked them up last month and I’m glad I did, because they were gone in a few days.
That is one thing I learned about thrift store shopping. If you see something you like, grab it because it will most likely not be there for long.
Both my daughter and I love sunflowers so these are great for us to have in our hutch. I have a feeling they will get a lot of use.

If you follow me on instagram you may have seen the picture of my Dad with his sunflower garden. If not, check this out:
He is 6’2 so that gives you an idea how of how tall they are. I was really hoping to use his sunflowers in this tablescape, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it to his house in time.
The sunflowers I picked up are just gorgeous though and at 6 for $5 they were a steal! A birch bark vase displays the sunflowers perfectly!
I really wanted the sunflower arrangement to be the focal point, so I just added a couple of mercury glass candleholders with my favorite fall scented candles from Antique Candleworks.
I’ve always wanted a table large enough to seat 8 people comfortably and this DIY Farmhouse Table does the trick.
You have to see what it looked like before! While I set the table for 6, I can easily add a place setting to each end as well.
I am still on the hunt for chairs for this table and hope to find some thrifted ones that I can paint to blend with the table.
I’ve talked many times about how it doesn’t have to cost a lot to have a pretty home and I truly mean that.
The buffalo check placemats are leftover fabric from the no-sew buffalo check curtains I shared here.
The large glass chargers were 6 for $5 at a barn sale last week. It was the coolest place I’ve stumbled upon in years!
Don’t you love when that happens?
Another way I keep costs down is to DIY a lot of the items used in my home. I will be honest though and say that even if I wasn’t decorating on a budget, I would still DIY things because I just really enjoy it.
It is a big stress reliever for me and now that my kids are grown I have more time to pursue things I love! That is important for all of us.
Last year I received the gorgeous Ikat Pitcher you see at the end of the table. The navy and white really compliments the buffalo check placemats.
I have a fun tutorial for the Ikat inspired napkin rings shown in this tablescape. Would you believe they are made with air dry clay?
They will be featured on Activa Products website next week so be sure to stop by to check it out. I will share the updated link here when it is live.
They were so fun to make! You can see wine charms I made using the same air dry clay here.
There is a quick and easy tutorial for the large gather sign shown here.I hope you enjoyed this sunflower and buffalo check fall tablescape.
Thank you for visiting! Check out the other talented bloggers linked up below. A big thank you to Chloe for hosting this fun blog hop. I truly look forward to it each time!

Michelle, I just adore that table setting. Life has thrown me some curve balls lately, so I'm so sorry I didn't visit your tablescape sooner! But I just love it. How clever to use clay for the napkin rings, and I also checked out your wine charms. So talented! And I love that you included a photo of your dad and his garden. Good job!
