It’s no surprise that I love to make handmade gifts.

It’s always been a way to express my sentimental side and make something that I know my friends and family members will love.

This homemade goats milk soap is the perfect gift and I plan to make up a big batch for the holidays for neighbors and my daughter’s co-workers.

I’ve already decided on several different blends of essential oils to use.

I’ve never used an aloe glycerine soap base and was anxious to try it out.

I simply followed the instructions included in the recipe box using the cute soap mold.

The only thing I changed was adding fresh rosemary from my herb garden, along with rosemary essential oil that was included in last month’s box.

Look how darling this little soap is:

You know I’m totally psyched that it says 100% handmade!

Of course I couldn’t stop there! I used a small heart shaped mold to make these:

These soaps are the perfect size to leave in a little dish in the shower as a single serve size.

My daughter already tried one out and LOVED it!

Now that I was having fun with soap making, I moved on to a larger sea shell soap mold that I’ve had for some time.

Let me show you the simple steps so you can make your own goats milk soap!

How To Make Rosemary and Lemongrass Goats Milk Soap

Supplies needed:

goats milk base

Step One

Cut the goats milk into cubes so it melts easier.

Step Two

Place the soap in a microwave safe bowl. For each sea shell mold I used 4 cubes. Melt the soap base in 10 second intervals until the soap is melted.

It takes about 30 seconds. Be sure not to overheat. The bowl will be very hot, so be careful.

Stir the soap gently and quickly add the essential oils to the base.

If you see any bubbles forming, use a tooth pick to remove them.

You may still end up with some bubbles.

I added 8-10 drops of rosemary and 8-10 drops of lemongrass to each.

Step Three

Add the dried rosemary to the soap molds and slowly pour the melted soap into the mold.

You may need to use the tooth pick to push the rosemary to the bottom of the mold.

Step 4

Let them sit for an hour or two. If you are impatient, like me, place them in the refrigerator until they are solid.

Then just pop them out by pressing on the center of the mold.

The color of the goats milk is really beautiful and I love how the flecks of rosemary show up.

But, you guys, the smell is amazing!

I really wish the computer screen was scratch n’ sniff!

Pretty packaging is a must with these gorgeous handmade soaps.

A simple and classic look is to use kraft paper with raffia or twine.

Add a pretty gift tag and you are good to go!

Ooooooo these must smell heavenly. What fun making your own soaps and I bet it's far more skin-friendly too. I find that so many of the soaps out there dry my skin out something terrible.
