Peel and Stick Wallpaper Ideas
It’s no secret that I love wallpaper. It’s one of the easiest and most budget friendly ways to make a big impact in a space.
The best part is you don’t need fancy tools at all. I’ve installed wallpaper in several rooms using nothing more than a level and a utility knife.
Another way I love to use wallpaper is by adding it to the back of a hutch or bookcase for dimension or a pop of color.
If you follow me on social media, you may have seen my gorgeous green hutch makeover finished with a beautiful deep green floral wallpaper.

If you are a fan of green as well, be sure to check out my cozy mid-century modern living room featuring a green velvet sofa from Wayfair.

Yes, you can apply peel and stick wallpaper over existing wallpaper. But, it’s important that the old paper be smooth, clean, and firmly adhered. If the old paper is damaged, peeling, or textured, remove it first for the best finish.
Clean and fully dry the walls before you begin.
Use a level to keep your wallpaper straight.
Start at the top corner, leaving a 1 inch overlap for trimming.
Slowly peel away the backing as you go.
Smooth from the center outward with a tool to remove bubbles.
Lift a top corner using a plastic putty knife, then slowly pull the wallpaper downward at a 45 degree angle. If it feels stuck, use a hairdryer or heat gun on low to soften the adhesive. Finish by cleaning any leftover residue with warm soapy water or a mix of water and fabric softener.
