Let’s get to this simple recipe.
Pumpkin Dump Cake Recipe Ingredients
- 1 (15oz) can of pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)
- 1 (12oz) can evaporated milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 box spice cake mix
- 2 sticks of butter (melted)
- Caramel syrup
- Cool whip for topping (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
I used a foil pan so my daughter could bring this to work to share with her co-workers.
I didn’t want to be left alone with this as pumpkin is my favorite!
How to Make Pumpkin Dump Cake
Step 1. Mix the ingredients
Start by adding the can of pumpkin to a mixing bowl. Then add the can of evaporated milk.
Add the eggs, sugar, and cinnamon and mix well.
I used my Kitchen Aid Mixer but you can mix by hand as well using a whisk.
Step 2. Pour into prepared pan
Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
Step 3. Add cake mix
Slowly add the spice cake mix evenly over the batter mix.
This is going to be a delicious crumble-like topping so you want to add the cake mix over all of the pumpkin.
One box is plenty to cover the 9×13 pan.
Step 4. Add melted butter
Drizzle melted butter over the top of the cake mix.
Step 5. Bake
Bake for about 55-60 minutes until baked through. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Drizzle with caramel syrup if you like.
It’s best if you refrigerate this dump cake and let it chill for a little bit. The pumpkin comes together nicely and the topping is similar to a crumble.
It’s seriously so good!
Simply slice and top with a dollop of cool whip if you like. You can also serve it with vanilla ice cream.
This was the first time my daughter tried dump cake and she LOVED it! This is one we will definitely make for Thanksgiving.
