Hello! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’m teaming up with a few of my friends to share festive cocktails.

You will find their links at the end of this post so you can check those out too.

One of the funny things about having a blog is you never know who is reading it, or you kind of forget who is.

My 78 yo father loves Facebook. It’s actually a really great thing, as my younger sister and I both live in a different state.

So it’s an easy way for him to see pictures and any updates that we share.

But I didn’t think about him seeing my blog posts. So imagine my surprise when I open one of my Christmas presents from him and it’s a bottle of Bailey’s Red Velvet Cupcake Irish Liqueur.

I was so surprised and asked him how he knew it was my new favorite drink.  He said “I saw the martini you made on your blog”!

You have to love social media. 🙂

Red Velvet Bailey’s Kahlua Shot

Since this is a limited edition flavor, I was thrilled to receive another bottle. Here’s hoping Bailey’s keeps it as a regular because it really is that good.

Armed with a full bottle of this delicious liqueur, I decided to make a red velvet cupcake shot for Valentine’s Day.

With its’ pink color, it’s perfect for the holiday. If you are a fan of red velvet, you have to try these red velvet whoopie pies.

Whenever I make a cocktail to share, I try to make something that doesn’t require a lot of ingredients.

Let’s face it, most of us don’t have a fully stocked bar. This Valentine’s Day shot only has three ingredients.

It also gave me the chance to use the really cool iridescent shot glasses my daughter received for Christmas!

Here is the easy recipe.

I love the layered look and the spoon really helps achieve that. It’s best if the Bailey’s is chilled.
