It is time for our monthly thrift store decor upcyle challenge! This is a favorite challenge of mine because I love to scour thrift stores and find something that really doesn’t look like much and turn it into a gem.

There is a large thrift store in New Hampshire that I always go to when visiting my daughter.
They have the best finds for ridiculous prices. This time I narrowed it down to these two items:
I’m not sure if this is a stool or a seat, but it was only $2 and I knew I could give it a makeover. It folds in half too!
These trays can be found in most thrift stores. It’s very pretty, but not my style.
The tray was $1 as it was half-off! While I know they don’t look like much now, see what a little creativity can do?
I recovered the stool with white cotton duck fabric and fringed the edges and painted the legs in a pretty dove gray.
I had an image transfer from iron orchid designs and added that to the tray after two coats of paint.
A perfect little side table with serving tray and extra seat if needed.

I love the new look. It looks so elegant now and it's a great piece for a spring vignette.
