Jello shots have become increasingly popular in recent years, especially during the summer months.
They are a refreshing and delicious way to cool down on a hot day. Plus, they are a creative way to serve alcohol to those 21+ and add a touch of whimsy to your party.
These watermelon flavored jello shots are a favorite flavor and super simple to make. Let’s get to it!

Watermelon Jello Shots
These jello shots are made with watermelon-flavored gelatin, tequila, and water for a twist on a classic margarita.
They are easy to make and can be customized to suit your taste preferences. You can even layer lime jello with the watermelon for a cool effect.
I’ve included a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post to make it even easier for you to make your own yummy jello shots.
Ingredients
- 6oz Watermelon Gelatin Powder
- Coarse Salt – we used margarita salt
- Lime Slices
- 1 Cup Tequila
- 1 Cup of Boiling Water
- Watermelon Gummies – optional
Kitchen Tools/Supplies
- Measuring Cup
- Condiment Cups (jello shot cups)
- Sauce Pan
Instructions
Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
Pour the pink gelatin into the pan. Add your favorite tequila. We used 1921 tequila-isn’t the bottle so pretty?
Mix well.
Pour into condiment cups filling them about 3/4 of the way.
Refrigerate for 2 hours or until jello is set.
Coat the rim of the jello shots with lime juice & roll in coarse salt. We used margarita salt.
Garnish with a lime slice.
That’s all there is to it. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Watch how fast these little adult treats disappear. Cheers!
