Balcony Christmas decorations in classic red and green with twinkling Christmas lights, pine garland, and a wall tree for a touch of whimsy!
This is my first year with a balcony and I’m having a blast decorating it for the holidays.
I’ll show you how easy it is to make your balcony look festive and charming – no matter the size or style.
So get ready to get inspired, because today I’m sharing my top tips for Balcony Christmas Decorations!
I’m excited to welcome you to the annual Atta Girl Says Christmas Porch Tour, featuring eight talented decorators.

We dedicate this year’s tour to our dear friend, Paula Skulina from Sweet Pea, who died in February after a five-year battle with lung cancer.
Paula has participated in this tour since 2017, and we are all really missing her this year.
I had the pleasure of working for Paula for a time as a virtual assistant and was amazed at her work ethic, dedication, and positivity.
Paula was just the sweetest person, full of love for her family, her beloved dog Sherman, and her students.
Her home was beautiful and full of vintage treasures. Paula had a knack for styling, but what I loved most were the stories she told about her decor.
So many of her Christmas decorations were treasured family heirlooms. I’m so grateful she shared those memories with us.
While Paula is not here this year to tour with us, she’s still an important part of our group.
I encourage you to visit her blog, Sweet Pea, for Christmas decorating inspiration, especially if you like to use meaningful family items in your holiday displays.
To honor Paula, we are also donating in her memory to LUNGevity and The Humane Society for Campbell County, Va.
If you loved Paula and her blog, we encourage you to make a donation in her memory using the links above.

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you know that my 26 yo daughter Amanda and I moved about 6 months ago so this is our first Christmas in our new home.
It’s always fun to decorate a new space and I’m really enjoying decorating with a more modern theme to match the home style.
One of my favorite spots to sit, weather permitting, is the balcony.
It’s a tiny space, but the perfect size for a couple of chairs and a table.
We sit outside with our morning coffee and chat before work. I may also enjoy the occasional Christmas martini after work. 🙂
One thing I try to share is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to decorate your home, especially for the holidays.
While I decorated the inside of my home with a pink and gold color scheme I wanted to go with traditional red and green for my outdoor Christmas decorations.
A traditional pine wreath, garland, and a couple of my favorite red trucks decorate the entry.
I did add a sweet little gnome to the milk can and think he looks just adorable!

Wall Christmas Tree
When I was thinking about how I wanted to decorate the balcony for the holidays, I knew I wanted a little Christmas tree.
But, with limited space, I decided to go with a festive wall Christmas tree and I’m loving it!
It’s unique, fun, and maybe just a little bit quirky-kind of like me! 🙂
The lights I ordered for the tree won’t be here until tomorrow, so I will add a photo at night so you can see how it looks lit up.
I’m of the opinion that everything is better with lights, so I’m excited to see it all lit up.
I’ll share a simple tutorial for making your own wall tree tomorrow.
There are a few things I learned that may save you a little time and money!
Wall Christmas trees are growing in popularity, especially on Pinterest.
They are easy to make and perfect for small-space living.
A collection of Christmas nutcrackers fill in the area beneath the tree. They are so colorful and festive.
My dad bought me this newest red truck. A couple of mini trees with twinkling blue lights compliment the nutcrackers.
Icicle lights are perfect for a balcony railing. I found these pretty lights with rattan stars at Target.
To hang decorations on vinyl siding without causing any damage, I use these vinyl siding hooks.
They really work great and don’t cause any damage.
The sleigh rides sign and the wooden snowflake are from the Decocrated Winter Subscription Box.
I’ve been receiving it for about 4 years now and am very happy with the quality and value. You can check out the prior boxes I received from Decocrated HERE.

The wooden ice skates were another Target find. Of course, everything is better with sparkle, so I added snowy white glitter to the blades.
They are hung with a Dollar Tree buffalo plaid scarf using the same hooks.
A pretty red bow tops the snowflake for an extra pop of color and it matches the scarf that my little snowman pillow is wearing!
Isn’t he just darling? He is a Pottery Barn knockoff that I have scheduled for Wednesday. Wait until you see how I made him!
On the side door, I added a vintage-style Christmas bell with the same red sweater-style bow.
I used the same paint technique to make this bell that I used for the bells shown here:
Guess what? That tutorial is coming too! This time of year is crazy busy and one of the ways I save money on decorating is to DIY a lot of my items.
I love crafting so it’s a win-win, but I’m a little behind on the writing.
These Christmas bells have gone viral on TikTok and you can make them for a fraction of the cost of what they sell for at Pottery Barn.
So stop back for a visit each day this week as I will be sharing a new project every day as part of a Christmas countdown.
I hope you enjoyed these balcony decorating ideas and that it inspires you to decorate your outdoor space no matter the size!
Thank you so much for stopping by. Wishing you a very happy holiday season!

That wall tree is genius! Such a great idea for a small space. Now I'm kicking myself for never decorating my balcony when I lived in an apartment. Yours is so pretty, and I love all the handmade touches. Can't wait to see how you made the snowman pillow. And those painted bells look like antiques!
So glad you were able to participate in the porch tour this year.
