Wreath making is my absolute favorite craft. I’ve talked before about the craft class I took when I was just 18 yo.
I’ll never forget the oversized eucalyptus and dried flower wreath we made. Do you remember when they were all the rage?
I’m probably showing my age, but suffice it to say, I’ve made hundreds of wreaths over the years.
If you enjoy wreath making as well, take a look at my wreath page HERE.
Boy, do I wish I had photos of all of the wreaths I created before I started blogging. 🙂
Let’s get to this simple wreath tutorial!
Supplies you need to make a bicycle tire sunflower wreath
- Sunflowers
- Olive Stems
- Accent Flowers
- Bicycle Tire
- Floral Wire or pipe cleaners
- Hot Glue Gun
How to Make a Sunflower Wreath
Step 1. Secure olive stems
The first step is to secure the olive stems to the bicycle tire wreath. You can use floral wire or pipe cleaners.
Step 2. Add hot glue
To make sure the stems were extra secure I also added a little hot glue.
Step 3. Attach the sunflowers
The sunflowers I found are extra-large, so I only needed 10 to fit around the entire wreath.
To make it easier to secure, I pulled the heads off the stems and hot glued them directly to the wreath form.
Step 4. Add accent flowers
Next up, hot glue accent flowers in between the sunflowers. I used small white flowers.
Step 5. Attach leaves
To give a little more dimension and texture to the wreath I hot glued the leaves from the sunflowers to the inside of the wreath form.
That’s all there is to it! A beautiful bicycle tire sunflower wreath that will make a perfect front door display.
And, the supplies only cost under $10!
