One of the things I love to add to any tablescape is a fun favor to sit at each place setting. It not only looks pretty on the table, but it’s a nice gesture for each of your guests.

How cute are these little fall candy cups?

They were the perfect addition to this rustic fall tablescape that is one of my favorite fall tablescapes. A couple of other Thanksgiving favors I’ve made are these favor nip holders and these mini pumpkin cream pies.

Let me show you how simple these are to make!

Supplies Needed for DIY Candy Cups Thanksgiving Favors

Paint the Peat Pots

Peat pots can sometimes be found at the dollar store, making this a very thrifty craft project. They are the perfect size for favors.

The first step is to use your foam brush to give a light coat of paint to the peat pots. I used a soft mint color to go with the table setting.

Add Floral Foam

Next up, add a small piece of foam to the peat pot.

Cut Fall Leaves

I used my Cricut to cut different leaf designs with pretty fall paper.

If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can use scissors, or a paper punch to cut out leaves on decorative fall paper.

Next, I added some adorable acorn shapes sized at 2″.

Add the Wood Stick

I found a bag of bark-covered wood sticks at the craft store. I’ve used them as pumpkin stems too!

Hot Glue the Leaves

Next up, you want to hot glue several leaves to the top of the wood stick. I was going for a topiary effect, so I just added a few paper leaves and acorns.

All that’s left is adding paper shreds and candy to the peat pot. You can also tie a little name tag around the stick so they can double as place cards.

What do you think of these little Thanksgiving favors? Is this something you could see yourself making? I’m thinking of making a Christmas version with paper poinsettias and red pots. I may even add some red velvet cake batter fudge.
