I’ve talked many times before about my love of fall. It is definitely related to living in New England all my life, where we have some of the best fall foliage around!
This is one of my favorite fall photos that I took of my daughter’s college campus in New Hampshire:
Isn’t it so pretty? I’ve totally turned into a leaf peeper since moving to New Hampshire.
I may or may not be following the fall foliage tracker and counting the days until I can check out some new spots.
Do you have a favorite spot to visit during the fall season? I’d love to hear in the comments below.
Whenever I am decorating a mantel, I usually start with an inspiration piece. I talk about this process in my farmhouse style neutral fall mantel post.
Fall Mantel Decor in Blue and Orange
This year my inspiration was a simple strand of wooden beads included in my Decocrated Fall Box.
I’ll be sharing the full fall unboxing later this week, so be sure to stop by to check out all the goodies!
If you don’t want to wait to order the fall box, you can use my code CRAFTYMOM15 to save yourself $15.
The warm colors of blues, mustard and coral really resonated with me.
Choose An Anchor
I started with a DIY hello, pumpkin wood sign, that also acts as a simple way to cover the “black box”.
We don’t watch a ton of television in this room, but when we do, I can just remove the sign. It’s only leaning on the mantel, so it’s easy to take down.
Add Visual Weight To Each Side
Now that the main piece was chosen, I moved on to each end of the mantel. I pretty much followed the 5 tips for decorating a mantel that I shared.
Pretty candle holders (also from Decocrated) make the perfect pumpkin holder.
Come back tomorrow to see how I made the leopard, navy and mocha velvet pumpkins. Super easy 15 minute project folks!

My $5 thrift store ladder is a great spot to hold cozy fall blankets.
On the opposite end of the mantel, I stuck with my love of symmetry with a wooden lantern and mercury glass candle holder.
Isn’t that navy blue velvet used for the pumpkin stunning?
Create Balance
All that was left was to add a navy and gold thankful banner that was a favorite find in the Target Dollar Spot. You gotta love the Dollar Spot!
I hope you enjoyed this blue and orange fall mantel. Sometimes it’s fun to mix things up and step out of your comfort zone.
Do you decorate in classic or neutral fall colors?
