Fall Porch Decorating Ideas
Hello and welcome to Our Crafty Mom! Today is all about celebrating the wonderful fall season.
Living in New England, it’s pretty magical this time of year.
I have to share one of my favorite photos that I took at peak fall season:
If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen this picture.
Can you believe this was taken at my daughter’s college campus?
I don’t think I would ever go to class with a view like that!
Today I am happy to once again be participating in the fall edition of Decorate Your Porch hosted by my sweet friend, Amy, from White Cottage Home And Living.
We are all sharing fall porch decor ideas to inspire you this autumn season.
If you don’t have a front porch, you can implement these same ideas for any outdoor space!
Last year I shared my small side porch decorated for fall.
This is the door that we typically enter.
You can see that small porch here.
For this year’s blog hop, I chose to share the front porch, where guests enter.
I’ll still be adding fall decor to the side porch, including mums and pumpkins and the teal pumpkin that I made for the teal pumpkin project.
If you are not familiar with this project, please check it out.
It’s such an important cause for kids with allergies.
Simple Fall Front Porch Decorating Tips
The first thing I do when I decorate the outside for any season, is place a wreath on the front door.
It really sets the stage for the decor that I choose and the colors I go with.
I made this fall wreath a few years ago and it’s still one of my favorites because it’s so full and the colors are classic fall.
Next up, a simple fall garland was added around the door in the same pretty fall colors.
I’m totally team pumpkin spice, so I just HAD to buy the adorable pumpkin spice everything sign that I found at Michael’s. It was 80% off!
Olive buckets are the perfect size to hold colorful mums.
The orange pumpkins are from my Dad’s garden.
He plants them every year for the grandkids and great grandkids, who get such a kick out of it.
I always pick up a few white pumpkins at the local garden center when I buy mums.
Pumpkins and corn stalks are some of the easiest ways to add curb appeal to your home. natural elements,
The DIY deacon’s bench fits perfectly at the top of the porch.
Another option would be to add a pair of rocking chairs. It’s such a classic look for a porch.
A sweet succulent pumpkin pillow and thankful sign from the Decocrated fall subscription box is all that’s needed here to welcome fall.
How sweet is the little truck with a mini pumpkin?
The mini white pumpkins weren’t available, so I went with fake for now.
I’ll switch them out for the real deal as soon as I can find them.
One tip I have for decorating with mums is always put them in another container.
It’s amazing how much better they look when they are not in the plastic buckets that they typically come in.
Add a mix of fall colored mums for a pop of color.
You can find clay pots for a good price at the craft store and they look gorgeous with mums.
