For my recent birthday, the main thing I wanted to do was take a trip to Hobby Lobby to check out the fall decor.
Let me just say, it did not disappoint! The smile on my face pretty much says it all:

If you’re ready to bring a little autumn charm into your home, I highly recommend doing the same.
Their seasonal aisles are always packed with pumpkins, wreaths, signs, florals, candles, and all kinds of pretty little touches that make decorating for fall so much fun.
Whether you’re decorating your front porch, refreshing your living room, or looking for fall decorations for Thanksgiving, there are plenty of options to choose from.
Hobby Lobby Fall Decorations
One of my favorite things about fall decor at Hobby Lobby is the variety. This year, I noticed several popular trends.
There were so many great things, so I’ll break it down by category to make it easier for you.
- Pumpkins – traditional orange and white pumpkins, but the standouts were the velvet pumpkins in rich colors like burgundy and gold, sherpa pumpkins, flannel and more.
- Coquette Decor – the standout seemed to be bows, bows and more bows! Wait until you see the beautiful bow pumpkins!
- Fall wreaths and garlands – gorgeous wreaths and garlands for every style of decor.
- Artificial fall flowers and greenery – you won’t have any trouble finding fall flowers, greenery, picks and stems.
- Autumn signs and wall decor – traditional fall signs, Thanksgiving wall decor and more
- Tabletop decorations – lovely centerpieces that can be enjoyed straight through Thanksgiving.
- Candles and candle holders – beautiful hurricane globes, lanterns, pillar candle holders and candles galore!
- Fall-themed pillows and throws – a variety of color options and styles.
- Baskets and rustic accessories – you can never go wrong with baskets to create your own fall display.
- Thanksgiving decorations – table runners, placemats, kitchen towels and so much more.
- Outdoor fall decorations – lights, waterproof pillows, lanterns, rugs and lots of other ideas.
And, of course, there are always plenty of seasonal craft supplies if you’d rather make your own decorations!
Pumpkins in all different sizes, shapes and colors
You can go traditional with pumpkins in warm oranges, and browns, or create a softer look with neutral pumpkins, muted greens, creams, and wood tones.
Look at all of these stunning pumpkins! The large velvet ones stand out to me. You may want to check out the DIY velvet pumpkins I made using Dollar Tree foam pumpkins as a base.

I especially love the idea of grouping pumpkins in different sizes rather than lining them up perfectly.
You can create large stacked pumpkins to place in front of a fireplace, or make a topiary of 3 pumpkins similar to the one I made a few years ago.
They are the perfect size to display on a mantel or buffet table.
Coquette Decor
If you’ve noticed a little more pink, bows, ruffles, and feminine charm popping up in the fall decor aisles, you’re not imagining it!
Coquette decor is having a moment this season, and Hobby Lobby and other home stores are filled with pretty pieces that bring a softer, more playful take on traditional fall decorating.
Think pumpkins with bows, delicate florals, vintage-inspired details, and plenty of sweet little touches.
It’s such a fun way to decorate for fall without sticking to the usual orange and brown color palette!
Just look at these gorgeous pumpkins and the oversized bows:

Hobby Lobby Fall Decorations for Thanksgiving
Fall decorating doesn’t have to stop in October. I love using many of the same pieces right through November and Thanksgiving.
Look for pumpkins, leaves, acorns, sunflowers, turkeys, thankful signs, and warm neutral colors that transition beautifully from early fall to Thanksgiving.
A simple fall centerpiece can make a dining table feel special for Thanksgiving, while a pretty wreath or garland can add a festive touch to your entryway.
You can also mix store-bought pieces with your own DIY projects. That’s one of my favorite ways to decorate because you can create a look that feels personal without spending a fortune.
Don’t Forget Outdoor Fall Decor
If you’re decorating your home for the season, don’t forget the outdoor spaces!
Hobby Lobby has plenty of ideas for dressing up a front porch, entryway, or patio. Think pumpkins stacked by the front door, a seasonal wreath, fall flowers in planters, and a cute welcome sign.
Add a few mums or fall florals and you have an easy autumn display that looks like you spent much more time on it than you actually did!

When Does Fall Decor Go on Sale at Hobby Lobby?
Now let’s talk about the part we all want to know about: the Hobby Lobby fall decor sale!
Hobby Lobby is known for offering seasonal discounts, so if you have your eye on something, it’s worth keeping an eye on the weekly sale.
Fall merchandise can be discounted throughout the season, and the markdowns can make it a great time to stock up.
If you see something you absolutely love, though, I wouldn’t necessarily wait too long. Popular seasonal items can disappear quickly, especially the really cute pumpkins, signs, wreaths, and unique decor pieces.
And if you’re a DIYer, sale time is also a great opportunity to pick up supplies for your own fall projects.
When Does Hobby Lobby Put Out Fall Decor?
So, when does Hobby Lobby put out fall decor?
Hobby Lobby typically starts putting out fall merchandise in the summer, often around July. The exact timing can vary by store and year, but you can usually expect to start seeing fall decorations appear while it still feels very much like summer outside!
That may seem early, but if you love decorating for fall, you know how quickly the season seems to fly by.
If you’re looking for a particular item, I recommend checking your local store early in the season. The selection is usually best when the merchandise first arrives.

My Favorite Way to Shop Fall Decor
I like to start by shopping my own home before buying anything new. Pull out the fall decorations you already have and see what you actually need.
Then make a list. This keeps a fun Hobby Lobby shopping trip from turning into a completely unnecessary fall decor haul. Although, let’s be honest, sometimes a little shopping spree is part of the fun!
I also love mixing old and new pieces. A favorite vintage-looking sign paired with new pumpkins or faux flowers can create a collected look that feels much more interesting than buying everything from the same collection.
Here is an example of how to mix old and new. I used my great grandmother’s antique china with a mix of new accessories for a rustic glam Thanksgiving tablescape.

Fall Decorating Ideas to Try
If you’re looking for a few easy ideas for using your Hobby Lobby finds, try these:
- Create a pumpkin display: Group pumpkins of different colors, sizes, and textures on a mantel, console table, or porch.
- Make a simple fall centerpiece: Add a tray, a few candles, faux leaves, pumpkins, and a small vase of fall flowers.
- Refresh your entryway: A wreath, seasonal sign, and a few pumpkins are all you need to give your front door a fall makeover.
- Add cozy textiles: Swap out a few pillows or throws for fall colors and textures.
- Decorate for Thanksgiving: Look for pieces with words like thankful, grateful, and blessed that can take you from fall right through Thanksgiving.
- Mix in DIY decor: Hobby Lobby is a great place to find supplies for creating your own seasonal decorations.
Time to Start Decorating!
I hope these fall decorations and ideas have inspired you to decorate your home for the autumn season.
And remember, you don’t have to completely transform your house to make it feel like fall.
A few pumpkins here, some pretty fall florals there, and maybe a cozy throw on the sofa can make all the difference.

So grab your shopping list, keep an eye out for the next Hobby Lobby fall decor sale, and have fun! Fall decorating is one of those things where there really is no wrong way to do it. Enjoy!
