And, you don’t have to live at the beach to enjoy these beachy coasters. They are perfect for coastal decorating, summer decor, or just to add a pop of color to your home.
I first tried out the Joy at a blogging conference in February, and was immediately hooked! You can read all about it in the post about Cricut Cards With Cricut Joy Card Mat.
If you haven’t tried infusible ink yet, there really is such a difference in the brightness of the finished project. There is a little bit of a learning curve with infusible ink.
My main tip is to make sure you follow the instructions as far as layering. For example, if you are making a t-shirt, you have to put something in between otherwise the infusible ink will go through to the back. Ask me how I know?
Sometimes I get so excited for the finished project, that I rush. Once I learned not to skip steps, I was so impressed with it.
My daughter just moved into a beautiful apartment and is decorating in a coastal theme. The second I saw the mermaid rainbow infusible ink, I knew they would make a great little housewarming gift for her.
Cricut has tons of really cool infusible ink designs, so you can really make some fun coasters.
Supplies Needed For Beachy Cricut Infusible Ink Coasters
- Cricut Joy
- Coaster Blanks Round
- Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets – Mermaid Rainbow
- Cricut Joy Standard Grip Mat
- Parchment Paper
Load the infusible ink paper into the Cricut cutting machine, with the infusible ink side up.
The coasters are 4″ round, so I simply pulled up a circle image on Cricut Design Space and sized the image to fit the coasters.
Duplicate the image so you have 3 on the page. Be sure to set “mirror image” with infusible ink. Here is a helpful video for how to use the Cricut Design Space App.
Cut the circles and remove them from the cutting mat. You can see how the infusible ink has a shiny liner attached.
Follow the directions for the infusible ink with the EasyPress. Place a towel down first, with a piece of card stock on top.
Then place the coasters on the paper with the infusible ink face down on the coaster. Cover with parchment paper.
Heat the Easy Press to 205 and set the timer to 40 seconds.
Let the ink dry and be careful, as the coasters will be very hot.
Remove the top liner and be amazed at the gorgeous coasters you just created! The colors are so bright and rich.
So what do you think? Can you see yourself making these for gifts, or for you own home? I will definitely be making several sets of these for holiday gift giving.
They have an animal print that is next up on my list.
