Red and White Christmas Decorations

This year is the first year that I decorated my tree with red and white Christmas decorations.

I’m not sure why, as I love all things little red truck, which you will see in this tour.

I’ve been on a pink kick the past couple of years with pink and gold Christmas decorations last year and a pastel Themed Christmas Tree before that.

Inspiration struck to go traditional as soon as I spotted the stunning Tribeca spruce blue tree from King of Christmas.

I knew red and white would stand out with that gorgeous backdrop. The quality of this blue spruce tree is absolutely amazing. You get the look of a real tree without the mess. Plus, it will last forever!

Decorating Entryway for Christmas

Let’s start out in our tiny entryway before we get to the tree!

If you are new to Our Crafty Mom, I live with my 27 yo daughter, Amanda, in a 1,000 sq foot apartment in beautiful New Hampshire.

I’m also a proud mom to my 32 yo son, Derek, who lives in Connecticut.

My goal is to share that you can decorate a beautiful home no matter the size or budget.

Most of my decorations are budget-friendly DIY projects, as I’m slightly craft-obsessed.

So you will see lots of craft projects that will hopefully inspire you to break out the glue gun!

Since you walk right into our open concept living/dining area, we don’t have a huge entryway.

But, that didn’t stop me from creating one!

Christmas entryway red and white

With small space living, everything has to have a purpose.

The Deacon’s bench is the perfect spot to take off (or put on) your shoes when you get home.

And, the best part is it opens for storage to keep shoes inside and out of sight.

The adorable DIY snowman pillow is a Pottery Barn dupe.

He adds a bit of Christmas cheer to the entryway. Mini Christmas trees are a staple in any holiday decor.

All of the decor accents in the entryway, including the key rack, plaid rug, winter tree wall art and rattan basket, are from Decocrated (no longer open).

Christmas wreaths are another staple in home decor, especially on the front door.

The red cardinal wreath is a recent craft project.

This is something that can stay up all winter, thanks to the snowy faux fur.

Christmas Hutch Decorating Ideas

Now let’s move on to one of my favorite spots to decorate, the farmhouse style hutch!

Christmas hutch

The classic red and green plaid dishes are a new Dollar Tree purchase.

Can you believe they are from Dollar Tree? They are ceramic too, not melamine.

They add such a festive touch to this space and go with my color scheme.

My collection of ironstone pitchers and bottle brush trees keep this area clean and simple.

top of hutch

When decorating a hutch, don’t forget the top! Christmas garlands look great draped across a hutch or entryway table.

Our antique nativity is right at home on the Christmas hutch. This set holds so many special memories.

My husband bought it for me the first year we were married.

My daughter loved to unpack it each year and find just the right spot for all the pieces.

Unfortunately, baby Jesus broke and I have been trying to find a replacement for the past few years.

Christmas Table Setting

Since we don’t have a dining room and this is the dining table we use for meals, I kept the Christmas table decorations simple.

The same red and green plaid dishes are at each table setting with red charger plates, a thrift store find!

Bottle brush trees add to the farmhouse Christmas feel.

A seasonal candle is another must in cozy Christmas decor, and makes the perfect centerpiece when placed on a tray or cloche.

I couldn’t resist adding this gorgeous red and white village Christmas wreath above the table.

It’s my favorite wreath so far. Stay tuned for a tutorial on this beauty.

Create a Letters to Santa Station

Next up, a small console table is the perfect spot for a Letters to Santa station!

The antique typewriter holds a Dear Santa printable you can download here.

There is also a free printable Santa’s good behavior certificate and a letter from the North Pole.

How fun is the North Pole mailbox? Remember I mentioned Decocrated? You guessed it.

The window arch, mailbox and Christmas pine wreath are all from Decocrated, but I have seen similar items at Homegoods.

A few more faux Christmas trees complete this pretty display.

Christmas Tree in Small Living Room

As we move into the living room, we finally get to my new favorite red and white Christmas tree.

I like to take pictures of the tree at night when it is all lit up. It adds to the effect.

The ornaments on the tree are a mix of old and new, DIY and store-bought.

This is also the largest tree I’ve ever had. I was a little nervous when I realized my ceilings were 8′ and the tree is 8′, but I’m seriously loving it! Here are a few of my favorite features from this King of Christmas tree:

  • Pre-strung with 650 UL warm white Micro LED lights
  • Classic needle tips
  • Hinged sections for easy setup
  • On/Off foot pedal
  • Includes metal tree stand, off-season storage bag, and protective gloves

If you have any questions at all about this, please let me know in the comments below and I will do my best to help. It is an investment, but one that will last and enjoyed for years to come!

Living Room Cozy Christmas Decorations

For the coffee table Christmas decor, I went with a beautiful vignette including a vintage Santa, more bottle brush trees, sleigh and reindeer.

The low height is perfect for family movie nights.

Throw pillows, fluffy throws and classic holiday decorations, keeping with the red and white color scheme, add to the vibe of this cozy Christmas living room.

I’m super excited to share a tutorial for the Santa art this week. Be sure to come back for that. It is a must-try!

Christmas living room

If you have a small living room with limited floor space, adding wall shelves is a great way to add height and also another place to display home decor.

How sweet are the winter wonderland animals?

They were purchased at the after Christmas sales last year for a song.

The good thing is they are not just for the holiday season. I can leave them out all winter long.

Christmas Mantel Decor

Now let’s move on to the mantel decorations.

The oversized Christmas art is the focal point of this space and makes quite a statement over the fireplace mantel.

Christmas mantel

You can see how I used this same piece to decorate my mantel last season with a pink and gold color scheme.

Christmas mantel red and white

My favorite little red truck makes an appearance, along with knit stockings and a basket with extra throws topped with a small Christmas tree.

A mix of red, white and gold pine garland fills the top of the mantel. I may add lights, but not sure yet.

Sometimes the mini lights have a yellowish glow that I don’t love. If you can recommend any warm white lights let me know in the comments below.

I have to tell you, my daughter and I watched a movie in here Friday with all the holiday lights on in the entire space, a candle lit and the fire on, and we both commented on how happy we were.

Christmastime really is the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas Bookshelf Decor

We are wrapping up with the hallway and the new modern ladder shelf I just added last week.

bookshelf Christmas decorations

This may or may not have been added for the sole purpose of decorating! 🙂

I really needed another shelf for all the pretty things from Decocrated!

See what I mean about the cozy feel from holiday lights?

All of these are on timers, including the red truck cloche.

Another small bench fits perfectly in this spot and you will usually find our cat hanging out here.

christmas hallway

How sweet are the hanging glass tubes with mini trees and snow?

They are old cigar holders that I grabbed from my brother-in-law. He was going to throw them out!
