I have been wanting to refinish my hutch and dining room table for some time. My tastes have changed and I am loving cottage style and french country. Basically, I am loving white. I took inspiration from town & country living blog. Her home is so cozy! This hutch started out pickled oak about 20 years ago when that was all the rage. Then, I was going for a cottage black, but it didn’t work and the dining room became a room used on Thanksgiving only. I refinished in Annie Sloan (surprise) and gave it a clear wax. I didn’t want the glass back so covered with mod podge and beautiful paper from Stampin’ Up! I left the handles black and love it! I can’t wait to fill it with stoneware and my wedding china. Almost forgot, I took out the glass out of the front and added chicken wire. It really gives it the look I was going for!

I fell in love with the beautiful deer silhouette that www.TheRusticPig.com was kind enough to share with us. I followed her tutorial using an old dresser mirror. I did have to prime the mirror first and used 4 coats of chalkboard paint. I also used Annie Sloan paint on both the wood frame and deer.
