I am on a burlap kick and love the burlap I bought for the curtains so I made a no sew table runner. I also put together the cute no sew burlap silverware holder you see here. I stamped a turkey on muslin with gratitude under and hot glued this on . I bought the […]
I’m in full Holiday mode at this time of year and making some ornaments to sell on Etsy and give to friends and co-workers. I first made these wings last year and thought I would make up a bunch. I am planning on doing different colors this year. I thought a pale pink would look […]
I have been working on Thanksgiving place settings and saw these cute wedding favor terrarium’s. I thought they would be perfect to sit at each place setting. I am personalizing each one with items that mean something to that person. This is for my sister and the yellow Rose means so much to my family […]
In my previous post I showed this Hutch decorated for Halloween. I have updated it for Thanksgiving. I love the graphicsfairy.com because you can find the most beautiful images for your decorating. I used this adorable Pilgrim boy image for the top of the hutch inserted in a simple frame. I found the awesome rooster […]
I fell in love with the beautiful deer silhouette that www.TheRusticPig.com was kind enough to share with us. I followed her tutorial using an old dresser mirror. I did have to prime the mirror first and used 4 coats of chalkboard paint. I also used Annie Sloan paint on both the wood frame and deer.
When we were building our home over 15 years ago I had two must haves, a farmer’s porch and a fireplace. They are my two favorite features to this day and it is not just for decorating. There is nothing like relaxing by the fire in the cold New England winters and sitting on the […]
I have been busy decorating the past two weekends. I did the outside last weekend and this weekend have worked on our main living areas. I started with my new kitchen hutch that I refinished (see prior post Annie Sloan Old White). For this I made a Halloween theme with a Spooky Banner and various […]
I found the most beautiful color pumpkin at Walmart and it was a steal at $5.98. I had this old toolbox that I found on the side of the road, cleaned it up and gave it a quick whitewash. I wanted to fill it with all natural elements, so I added gourds and mini pumpkins, […]
I made the wood pumpkins out of old 2×4’s cut into different sizes and added them to my wrought iron stand with fall leaves. I bought the scarecrow at Scituate Art Festival (which is coming in 2 weeks yippee!) This is the other end of the porch with my all time favorite swing. I added […]
I scored this awesome rug on clearance at Kohl’s. It really anchors the rocking chairs. I added my DIY pillows from another post and some burlap on the little side table warm it up. I sat out here tonight reading and it was very peaceful. The DIY drop cloth curtains give privacy and warmth.
