I found the most beautiful color pumpkin at Walmart and it was a steal at $5.98. I had this old toolbox that I found on the side of the road, cleaned it up and gave it a quick whitewash. I wanted to fill it with all natural elements, so I added gourds and mini pumpkins, plus some dried hydrangea as fillers. I made a quick no sew burlap table runner and love how it turned out! I also picked up 2 glass vases and candle holders from the dollar store using E6000 to attach then filled it with faux leaves and pumpkins. Happy Fall!
Like so many of you, I love fall decorating and my favorite place to decorate is my farmer’s porch. I spend a lot of time here at least until it gets too cold. I saw these adorable pumpkin topiary’s all over blog land and was psyched when Michael’s had the pumpkins 50% off. I used old 5 gallon bakery bins as the base and covered them in burlap. I love, love them by my front door!
I enjoy this time of year with the humidity fading away and life getting back to a somewhat normal routine, with kids going back to school and a slower pace during the work/school week. I crave down time sitting on either my porch swing or rocker reading, surfing, blogging and creating. I totally could be home for days and be happy. So, with that in mind I wanted a sign for the porch to reflect that. I have a bunch of pallets thanks to Dad and made this sign “Enjoy the Quiet”. To remind myself to take a step back every now and again and be thankful for all of life’s blessings!
I love this time of year and enjoy decorating my front porch with the changing seasons. I am just about finished for the Summer season and thought I would share some of my favorites.
