I’m sharing a mouthwatering gnocchi and sausage dish that has quickly become my go-to recipe for potlucks and family gatherings.

You will need the following ingredients listed below to make this gnocchi and sausage recipe (the exact measurements, nutrition information and full recipe are all in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post).

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR GNOCCHI AND SAUSAGE RECIPE

  • Potato Gnocchi – I love Rana skillet gnocchi
  • Sausage – I used smoked sausage
  • Spinach – you can substitute with kale
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Olive Oil
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper

How to Make Gnocchi and Sausage

Cook the sausage: Place the sliced sausage in a large skillet with olive oil. Cook until the sausage has nice color on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Add the gnocchi: Add the gnocchi to the skillet and cook according to the package directions. The skillet gnocchi will get a nice brown color.

Add remaining ingredients: Add in tomatoes, spinach, onion powder and garlic powder.

Toss together and cook uncovered until the tomatoes and spinach are soft. Season with salt and pepper.

Top with parmesan cheese: Add parmesan cheese while hot and enjoy, or let it sit overnight and enjoy cold at your summer barbecue!

It is equally delicious both ways and tastes even better when all of the flavors blend together!

You can easily customize this recipe using spicy Italian sausage instead of sweet. Or, you may want to spice things up by adding crushed red pepper flakes.

One Pan Gnocchi and Sausage Recipe

Yield: 6 Servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound skillet gnocchi
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, pre-cooked, sliced
  • 10 oz cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Add olive oil to a large skillet and cook smoked sausage until it has a nice color. About 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Place the pan fried gnocchi in the skillet and cook until brown and toasty according to package directions.
  • Add in the sliced tomatoes, spinach, onion powder and garlic powder and cook uncovered until the tomatoes and spinach are soft.
  • Toss together and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Top with parmesan cheese and enjoy!

Notes

*This dish can also be enjoyed as a cold salad perfect for barbecues and potlucks.
