Greet your friends and family with one of these beautiful DIY summer wreaths for your front door.
Hello and welcome! I’ve talked many times before about how wreath making is my absolute favorite craft project.
I made my first one as a teenager and I was hooked.

You can see all the wreaths I’ve made since I started blogging.
Boy do I wish I had taken photos of the ones prior to blogging.
I used to make a lot of dried floral arrangements.
I also have a Pinterest Board dedicated to just wreaths if you want to follow along.
One of the reasons I think wreaths are so popular is because it’s something everyone has.
Whether it’s an apartment door, townhouse door or house door.
You can welcome your friends and family with a front door wreath.
Just go with a style that you love and in less than an hour you can have a beautiful wreath to display.
Plus, it’s always a good feeling when someone compliments your creation!
Over the past 30 years I’ve learned a few tips and tricks with wreath making so I thought I would share those with you.
Tips For DIY Wreath Making
- Hang the wreath on the wall while making it, so you can get an idea where you should add picks, leaves, or whatever adornments you are crafting with.
- Start by adding your larger pieces first, then add leaves, berries and smaller picks, florals around each larger piece.
- Use paper clips to adhere larger foam items to a wreath. You can see how I used a paperclip to attach a foam pumpkin here.
- Invest in a cordless glue gun. I’ve been using this cordless glue gun for the past 2+ years and it was seriously a game changer. It holds the charge and makes it so easy to craft without being limited to a cord.
- Use a blow dryer or heat gun to remove those pesky glue threads that show up.
Now let’s get to these gorgeous Summer Wreaths. Enjoy!
