Spring Living Room Curtains
When choosing spring curtains for my living room, I was looking for something light and airy that would also incorporate some of the colors already in the space.
I’m so happy with these floral semi sheer grommet curtain panels that I ordered from Lowe’s. They are light filtering, have pops of blue and muted green, and the price was extremely reasonable.

I also wanted to replace the cheap blinds in my living room. After just three years, pieces of the plastic were actually breaking in half!
I didn’t want a complicated installation process, though. After a bit of research, I ordered Redi Shade because they require no tools to hang, no brackets, and they’re cordless.
They come in light filtering, blackout, and light blocking options, along with a few different colors. I chose the light filtering version.
I’m thrilled with how easy they were to install and how great they look in the room.
How to Install Redi-Shade Pleated Shade
If you have an odd size window, you can easily trim the shade with a straight edged kitchen knife. I was able to order the exact size I needed, though, so I did not have to cut mine at all.
Here are the simple steps to hang them.
- Clean surface with a lint-free cloth and alcohol. Let dry.
- Press firmly for at least 30 seconds to adhere properly to surface.
- Wait at least 30 minutes before operating shade.

It took me about 5 minutes to hang and I love the honeycomb fabric. So, if you are looking for affordable shades that you can easily hang and switch out as needed, definitely check out Redi Shade.

Now let’s get to the living room curtains!
How to Choose Curtains for Living Room
With all of the different styles of curtains, not to mention the endless patterns and color options, I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed.
But, choosing the best living room curtains doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.
It helps to break it down:
- Think about your windows and their overall size.
- Measure the height and width to be sure your curtains will fit properly.
- Decide how much light you want to let in during the day.
- Consider if you need full privacy or just a little coverage.
- Choose fabric and thickness based on both light control and privacy needs.
Once you get the specifics, then you can move on to the style. If you are decorating on a budget, there are so many stylish and inexpensive curtains that still look high end.
Look for something adjustable so you can easily tweak the height or fullness, especially if your windows are an odd size.
And if you want a simple install, a tension rod can be a total game changer.
Finally, pick a color that complements your furniture and ties the whole room together for a cozy, pulled together feel.
